Fibertex Nonwovens is expanding its activities in North America by adding another production line at our Gray Court, SC facility to our existing lines in SC and IL.

The Purchasing Agent will provide purchasing support to North American facilities for raw materials and consumables. Balances service needs and costs to ensure best value to organization. Assists with supplier management and performance measurements. Reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates purchases order activities; place and expedite orders; performs purchase order entry; resolved purchase order problems and conduct follow-up activities as necessary to finalize purchase order transactions.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts.
  • Develop partnerships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and improved results. Assist with supplier audits.
  • Assist with transportation management to develop multiple option review (MORś)/periodic pricing reviews (RFPś)/ and analyse & present cost savings initiatives (CSIś).
  • Place and track all purchase orders for raw materials and production consumables for North America.
  • Monitor pricing, report impact to business costs, and assist with strategy development to manage impact.
  • Perform supplier audits and quarterly business reviews.
  • Develop detailed expenditure reports by item/vendor/category. Analyze for improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain ERP system to accurately reflect materials on order and status.
  • Assist with global transportation costing and management.
  • Actively participate in quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Fibertex Nonwovens Quality Policy to ensure our products and services meet customer’s expectations.

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bachelor´s Degree or equivalent experience in purchasing
  • Experience in Nonwovens Industry.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details, and data tracking capability.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and X/ERP systems).
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize duties to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of lean principles.
  • Must possess proven leadership, flexibility, decision making, communication, problem solving and team building skills
  • Knowledge of transportation management/international logistics and lead time management.
